This is the Family Name Society of the Worldwide Penty Family whose origins were in Norton/Cundall, near Topcliffe in North Yorkshire, England. Our tree goes back to the early 1500s with the name at that time being spelt PENTETH - it has varied over the centuries with such spellings as PENTITH, PENTE, PAINTY, PENTE and PAINTIFF. The spelling has now concentrated on PENTY and PENTITH. The present family is well spread throughout England, Canada, U.S.A., New Zealand, Australia and India. There are over 100 members of our Family Name Society, which I run, and an annual Newsletter is sent to all members.
