Jules Francois Besanceney born October 23,1849 died April 9, 1850 Jules Francois Besanceney born December 5, 1850 Died April 17,1851. Stories told through out the Besanceney family, are that Victorie Besanceney also gave birth on the ship coming to America, the baby died and was buried at sea. Christian Ducotey and Augustus Pequignot are half brothers, having the same mother. Christian Ducotey, Augustus Pequignot, Theodore Guillaume and Amos Robena were all born in France. Immigrating to the United States at various times and some at very young ages. One can only assume they came to America to escape the wars and seek a better future. In doing my family research , I was surprised to find that it was very common, even back generations in France for Besanceney's, Pequignot's and Ducoteys to marry into each family. Some of them even immigrating to various States here in the United States. Modeste Francois Besanceney was better known as Francois. He had a farm here in Tioga County, Pa. Most of his children remained here in tioga county, but two daughters settled not far away in the Beech Grove, Lycoming county, Pa. area. |
