Modeste Francis Besanceney and his wife Victoire Liette emigrated to the United States from Frahier, France in 1854, bringing with them their oldest four daughters. They settled in Tioga County, Liberty township, Pa. Modeste went by the name Francis here in the U.S.
Their oldest daughter Marie Scolastique Besanceney married Christian Ducotey here in Pennsylvania.They settled in Lycoming County,Cogan House Township, Beech Grove, Pa.
Christian Ducotey emigrated from France to Pennsylvania in 1852. According to living Ducotey family members Christian Ducotey and Augustus Pequignot are half brothers.
Julia Silvie Besanceney married Augustus Pequignot here in Pennsylvania. They settled in Tioga County, Liberty Township, Sebring, Pa.
Augustus emigrated from France to Pennsylvania in 1864.
Marie Eleonie Besanceney , better known as Leona married Theodore Francoise Guillaume better known as Francis, here in Pennsylvania , they settled in Lycoming county, Cogan House Township, Beech Grove, Pa.
Theodore Guillaume emigrated from France to Pennsylvania in 1868.
Marie Augustine Besanceney married Issac Pollard here in Pennsylvania. Settled in Potter county, Conrad, Pa.
Rose Besanceney married Amos Robena,.
Amos Robena emigrated from France to Pennsylvania.
Settled in Tioga County, Bloss Township, Arnot, Pa.
John Besanceney married Margret Lyttle, Lucinda Butters here in Tioga County,Pa.
Settled in Tioga County, Pa.
Charles Wesley Besanceney married Myrtie Hart in Tioga County,Pa.
Settled in Tioga County, Pa.
William Gus David Besanceney married Florence Viel here in Tioga County, Pa.
Settled in Tioga County, Pa. then moved to New York.
As I research this family it amazes me how history repeats its self thru out every generation. Even back into France.
It was very common for Besanceneys, Pequignots and Ducotey to marry in each family, from France to the United States, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania.
Then the new generations here in Pennsylvania married into Normans,Butters, Anthony, Patts,Careys.
