He married MARGUERITE DUMAY-DEMERS July 09, 1673 in Contract of Notary Rageot, Lauzon, Quebec, daughter of JEAN DEMERS and JEANNE VIDIL. She was born October 21, 1659 in Ct. Rageot, Montreal, Canada, and died Bef. June 11, 1725 in St. Nicolas, Levis, Quebec, Canad.

Andre s/o Pierre and Catherine Marchand was born at Saint Saturnin-du-Bois where he was baptized on February 16, 1642. This community is located orth of the canton of Surgeres, arondissenent of Rochefort, with the boudaries of the Charente-Maritime, formerly the province of Aunis.

Andre did not have the opportunity to get an education; he did not know whow to write. His mother died before he cme to New France, since his father crossed the Atlantic with him about 1665. Father and son were hired by Eustache Lambert.

His father was still living when Andre and Marguerite married. The contract was signed July 9, 1673 at the home of Jean Paul Maheau.
