Adeline Addie Aven (daughter of James D. Aven and Mary M Stogner)6 was born November 29, 1880 in Red Oak, Kemper, Mississippi7, and died November 08, 1933 in Maysville, Garvin County, Oklahoma7. She married (1) Robert Lyle Lang. She married (2) Bill Jones on 18957.
Notes for Adeline Addie Aven: Ruth Ross, the granddaughter of Robert L. and Addie Evans Lang, says that Addie lived with Alice and 'Doc" (as he was called) Mitchell a short while in Ferris, Ellis County, Texas. She must have been living with them whenever she met & married Robert in 1897. Sometime later Alice and Doc moved to Maysville, Oklahoma, but Robert and Addie remained in Ferris. Robert's father, William A. Lang, and mother, the former Martha Jane McElroy, lived in Ferris also. All of Robert and Addie's children were born in Ferris, as far as we know. Waneta Arner has copies of each child's birth certificates, except for the eldest daughter, Emmagene, and T.F.'s mother, Alice Elberta (Lang) Arner.
Addie died November 8th, 1933 in Maysville, Garvin County, Oklahoma. The Funeral Register is signed by a Dr. James A. Young, of Maysville, who stated he first saw Addie in September of 1933 and went on to say she died of cancer from which she had suffered for a period of one year. Her maiden name was listed on the certificate Aven. Her remains were handled by the Stufflebean Funeral Home, 500 North Willow Street, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma 73075. The informant for her records was J. W. Lang (Johnnie William of Houston). Her body was embalmed, then transported by Hearse to Ennis at the cost of $90.00. The total cost of Stufflebean Funeral Home, which included removal of body, embalming, the casket ($50.00) and transportation to Ennis...$235.00. The cost was charged to the Lang children and Bay & D.S. McDana; Mary at Durant (noted on funeral home standard certificate of death.)
Following Roberts' death, Addie moved to Maysville, Oklahoma to be with her sister Alice Lallie. She took her children James Clifton (Willie), Johnnie William (Buddy), Eloyse, Alice, And Corine with her. Imogene (Sister) was already married to Haud Shaw and living in Ennis. Willie came back to live for a while with 'sister' in Ennis.
