My Family Tree - Sharon Perham
My Family Tree - Sharon PerhamUpdated October 13, 2006 | Sharon Rachael Perham [email protected] |
When I started looking at my family tree a few years ago, I never realised how adictive it would become! Amongst my grandparents effects I found a large bronze disc which turned out to be a World War I 'death penny'.I foudn out that these 'pennies' were given to the families of those who died in World War 1 and yet I'd never heard of the name on the coin - Charles William Endicott. After much searching, mainly by my sister, we have traced our family back and linked in with many other families, but more importantly we found out who the coin belonged to. Charles William Endicott was born in Axminster on 1st March 1896 and died fighting in France during the First World War on 14 May 1917.We're still researching this part of the tree and I am hopeful to learn more about this person. Please let me know if your family tree links into ours at any point. | |
