Generation No. 1

1. MR VIGILIO1 PERSEGHIN was born 1851 in REVIGO PROV, AUSTRIA, and died 03 Dec 1932 in Dundalk, Maryland. He married MRS MARIA IMBANIA BOMBANATO 1875 in TRECHENTA, REVIGO PROV, ITALY. She was born 13 Oct 1855 in TRECHENTA, REVIGO PROV, Italy, and died 24 Dec 1940 in DUNDALK, MD.

Notes for MR VIGILIO PERSEGHIN:
Born and educated in a village on the Austrian-Italian border. Had cousins who were shepherds in the Alps. Stone Mason by trade. Met and married Imbania Bombanato in Trechenta, while constructing a chapel on the estate of the local count. Remained in Trechenta and raised his family there.
Had his three eldest sons educated and apprenticed in Stutgart, Germany.
A man of modest wealth.
Moved to America about five years after his older sons. Had enough money to pay his own passage, purchase property and live off his money. Lived in Burgaw, N.C. Later moved to Dundalk, Md. with his wife and two younger sons, Lawrence and Giovanni. Bought three town lots on Baltimore Ave, one of which was given to Napoleon (after the farm fiasco with his brother) and another to Jiovanni (which became his shoemaker's shop).
A deeply religious man, who insured that all his grandchildren practiced their Catholic faith. My own mother has memories of her grandfather gathering up the chidlren on Sunday afternoon to take them to Vespers!
