2. GAETANO² PERSEGHIN (VIGILIO¹) was born 07 Aug 1879 in Trecenta, Revigo, Italy ¹, and died Dec 1964 in Dundalk, Baltimore, MD¹. He married ROSA BRANDALEZE 1902 in San Bellin, Rovigo Province, Italy, daughter of PIETRO BRANDALEZE and MATILDA QUAACHIO. She was born Abt. 1883 in San Bellino, Revigo, Italy, and died in Dundalk, Baltimore, MD.

Notes for GAETANO PERSEGHIN:
Gaetano and Dominic were the first to migrate to America, settling in Burgaw, N.C. (See notes on Napoleon Persegin )After several years, Napoleon and Adele migrated, followed several years later by Virgilio, Imbania, Lawrence and Jiovanni.

The three older sons were skilled craftsman, having been apprenticed to Austrian and German masters in Stutgart, Germany. Their big break came when the saw broke at the lumber mill in Burgaw, N.C. and Gaetano was able to fix it. After that, they were often able to supplement their income with skilled labor. After a few years, the brothers worked with an Italian construction crew that was building roads throughout the South. While this work gradually led to the rest of the family settling in Dundalk, Md. it took Gaetano to Sumpter, South Carolina, where he bought land and settled. There he worked and raised his family.

Gaetano's wife was Rosa, Adele Perseghin's sister. In later years, Gaetano and
Rosa moved to Dundalk to be near their family. My own memories of Uncle Gaetano was a vigorous little man, riding his bicycle all over Dundalk. My only memories of Aunt Rosa was as "sick nona", a bedridden old woman who looked enough like my own grandmother to be her twin.
