      5. Sophia Johnson, born August 18, 1900 in Lamberton , Redwood County, MN; died December 16, 1980 in Mankato, Blue Earth County, MN. She was the daughter of 10. Hans Christian Johansen and 11. Thorine "Tilda" E. Olsen.

Christ Petersen, 89, Lifelong Local Resident, Dies
Christian P. Petersen, 89, of Lamberton, died Monday, March 4, 1991 at Valley View Manor Nursing Home at Lamberton. Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton with Rev. Lee Harder and Rev. Earl Amundson officiating. Interment will be in the Lamberton cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard, Steven, and Robert Hage Jr, Scott, Bradley, and Cory Uhlenhopp, and Daniel and Rob Peterson. He is survived by two daughters, Helen (Mrs. Mike) Uhlenhopp of Westbrook and Donna (Mrs. Robert) Hage of Hector; two sons, Edward of Sioux Falls, SD, and Harold Stanley of Lamberton; twenty grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Hans of Sanborn and Arnold of Valley View Manor; and three sisters, Evelyn (Mrs. Leon) Lingle, Vivian Nelson and Viola Adams, all of Lamberton. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Sophia, four sons, Elgin, Robert, Larry and Harlan. His wife, Sophia died December 16, 1980. He was born June 26, 1901 in Evan, MN to Otto and Kristine (Johansen) Petersen. He married Sophia Johnson May 3, 1923. He was a mechanic in the early 1920's at Roth Motor Co. in Lamberton and the remainder of his years he spent farming. He retired in 1981. He served on the Farmer's Elevator board and was an early board member of Revere Cooperative.

Obituary: Mrs. Sophie Petersen
Mrs. Christian Petersen, 80, died Tuesday, December 16, 1980, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato. She had been ill for several years and was hospitalized several weeks. She had undergone surgery Monday evening. Sophie was born August 18, 1900, at Lamberton, to Hans C. and Mathilda Johnson. She married Christian P. Petersen May 3, 1923. After their marriage the couple resided in Lamberton until 1927 when they began farming north of Lamberton. They have resided there since. Surviving are her husband, three sons, Harold, Elgin, and Edward, two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Helen) Uhlenhopp and Mrs. Robert (Donna) Hage, a sister, Mrs. Phil (Ann) Lohrbach of Santa Ana, Calif., seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Preceeding her in death were three sons, Harlan, Larry, and Robert, three sisters and six brothers.

Elgin "Ozzie" Petersen, 58, dies June 14
Elgin "Ozzie" Petersen, 58, of Spicer, died Monday, June 14 at the Tracy Hospital, where he had been a patient since Saturday. He had been a resident of VVM in Lamberton the past several months. Graveside services were conducted Wednesday at three o'clock at Lamberton Cemetery with Pastor Ray Larson of Spicer officiating. Elgin was born April 20, 1924 at Lamberton to Sophie and Christian Petersen. Survivors include his wife, Delores of Wayzata, sons Randolph of Elk Mound, Wisc. and Bryan of Spicer, daughter, Mrs. Allan (Kaye) Olson on Spicer, three grandchildren, Angela and Eric Olson, and Alexander Jordan Petersen, his father, Christian Petersen of Lamberton, brothers, Harold Stanley and Edward H. Petersen of Lamberton, sisters, Mrs. Mike (Helen) Uhlenhopp of Westbrook and Mrs. Robert (Donna) Hage of Hector. Preceding him in death were his mother and three brothers.

Burns Fatal To Little Harlan Petersen - Rev. Olson Conducts Services Friday
Gloom spread over this community Thursday when it became known that Harlan, the little two-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Christ P. Petersen, had died at 3:15 o'clock that morning. Harlan was the victim of an unfortunate accident at his home the previous Monday. While at play he tumbled into a pail of hot water and about 1/3 of his body was burned. Every loving care and medical attention failed to save him. Harlan was two years and four months of age and youngest in the family. He leaves besides his parents, a sister and three brothers. Pallbearers were: Hans and Arnold Petersen, Marvin Mattson, and Euclair Roth. The News extends sympathy to the bereaved parents.

      7. Amelia Eva Williams, born June 30, 1923 in Walnut Grove, Redwood County, MN. She was the daughter of 14. George H. Williams and 15. Emma Martha Wilhelmina Zamzow.

Amelia Williams and Darlow Foster Wed, Miss Amelia Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Williams of Walnut Grove,and Darlow Foster, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vally Foster of Walnut Grove, were wed at 2:30 pm Tuesday, March 4th, by the Rev. O.J. Govig. The attendants were Berniece Williams, sister of the bride, and Cecil Foster, brother of the groom. The bride wore a blue suit with a white carnation corsage and the bridesmaid wore a brown suit with yellow mums as a corsage. A 5 o'clock dinner was served at the bride's home for the immediate families. The couple will live on the Foster farm, which the groom is renting.

Walnut Grove Tribune, April 1971: Old Clock, TV Set Taken From Home
A 100 years old clock and a television set were taken when the Darlow Foster farm home was broken into Friday evening. Next issue: Thieves Take TV, Clock from Farm Near Revere, Thieves who entered the Darlow Foster home 2 1/2 miles Southwest of Revere Friday made off with a television set and a 100 year old clock. Mr. and Mrs. Foster left for town about 8 pm and discovered the theft when they returned about an hour later. Their son who was plowing nearby said he noticed nothing unusual. (They don't have a son-DP) The thieves entered the home through a kitchen window which they broke while attempting to pry it open. They left by the front door. The sheriff's office is still investigating several clues.

Beverly is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darlow Foster, Walnut Grove, and Duane is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Weedman, Walnut Grove. The bride was given away by her parents. The attendants were Mrs. Larry Peterson, Walnut Grove, sister of the bride and Mr. Grant Lade, brother-in-law of the groom. A reception was held afterward in the church basement. Mrs. Bruce Fox of Marshall, friend of the couple was in charge of the guest book. At the punch bowl were Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lamfers of Amiret, friends of the couple, cake cutter, Mrs. Grant Lade of Springfield, sister of the groom, coffee pourer was Mrs. Julius Larsen of Walnut Grove, friend of the couple. Ladies who helped in the kitchen were Mrs. Ralph Olson of Revere, Mrs. Walt Nielsen of Revere and Mrs. Dorothy Cooper of Walnut Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Weedman are at home on a farm near Walnut Grove. .
