Jean Rapp is one of the best known of Napoleon's aides. Rapp is a Pierrot ancestor who joined the calvary in 1788 & was commissioned in 1794. Wounded many times in his career, he fell into disfavor with Napoleon for showing sympathy with Josephine after the divorce. At the end of his life Rapp accepted the Boubon restoration & became a member of the house of peers. He died of cancer in 1821. (credit Ruth Loyd)
