This home page has been a continuing search starting in 1999 through the year 2000.Recorded records of Colorado were few before 1900.Family bibles, cemetary records, death certificates and the 1880 census have been the best sources.
This family page is devoted to four pioneer families in Jefferson County, Colorado.The Petrie, Mannon, Tuttle and Kerr families arrived in the 1850's and 60's.
They were miners, farmers and ranchers throughout Jefferson and Clear Creek Counties.
George Eugene Kerr first arrived in 1859.He was a miner and rancher before builing a school and becoming the first teacher in Bergen Park, Colorado.

    Born February 1, 1895 in Golden, Colorado.He was a career Navy man.Died in San Diego, California in 1963.
  • ROY"BUCK" PETRIE (148 KB)
    Roy was born in Golden, Colorado February 22, 1890.He was the son of Alonzo and Edith (Pruyne) Petrie.He was a member of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show.The picture is of him on his horse Mich Tower.He died March 15, 1928.
