| Since I was young, I've always had an interest in history. Over the years, that interest grew into a passion. I have fond memories of hearing stories from my grandmother Elsie Fay McKee, and the family babysitter, Jenny Wycoff. At the time, the stories seemed to go on and on. Some of them I remember, but most of them have been forgotten. But the memories I do have, I cherish. As an adult, I have strived to preserve as many stories and collect information from my parents and other family members as possible. Since the spring of 1999, I have been actively compiling information from various sources dealing with the ancestors of all four of my family surnames. Throughout this process, I have come to know several cousins and kind folks, who have become friends. I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for their generosity in sharing family photographs, stories, obituaries, maps, letters, etc. Without their help, my project would have fallen far short from where it is today.
