I am researching the descendents of three brothers, Gabriel, Pierre and Henri Peyroux who arrived in New Orleans, La about 1750.Jean Marie Gabriel (1738-1794) was the first civilian pharmasist in New Orleans and opened a pharmacy on Royal St. in 1769. His son Sylvain (1792-1859) was a plantation owner who built Three Oaks Plantation in St. Bernard, La. This plantation was destroyed in 1965. Sylvain's son was Michael Armand (1838-1902) who was the father of my grand-father, John Alexander Peyroux, Sr. (1874-1948) My father was John A. Peyroux. Jr. (1899-1985). I would appreciate any information you may have concering this New Orleans, colonial family. |
