Here are some listings from the civil war. None of this is yet verified but the names and places of these individuals correspond too closely to our family to be coincidence. I am writing for verification of some of these people and I will post the findings when I receive them. I have ordered the NATF forms that I need to get these records, but everything takes time. (Not good for us impatient ones)

Joseph Peyton - Residence not listed; 21 years old. Enlisted on 2/14/1865 as a Private. On 3/5/1865 he mustered into “I” Co. Ohio 189th Infantry. He was mustered out on 5/18/1865 at Nashville, TN. (Could be Joseph E. Burkett b. 1844, son of Charles Henry Peyton)

Jacob M. Peyton - Residence, Clover, Il; Enlisted on 9/10/1861 as a Private. On 9/19/1861 he mustered into “C” Co. Illinois 9th Cavalry. He was discharged for disability on 9/6/1863.

Jacob M. Peyton - Residence, Clover, Il; Enlisted on 2/16/1865 as a Captain. On 2/16/1865 he was commissioned into “I” Co. Illinois 148th Infantry. He was mustered out on 9/5/1865 at Nashville, TN. (Could be Jacob Miley b. 1834, son of Joseph Evin Peyton)

Charles Peyton - Residence not listed; 22 years old. Enlisted on 2/27/1864 as a Private. On 2/17/1864 he mustered into “D” Co. Ohio 18th Infantry. He was mustered out on 10/9/1865. (Could be Charles L. b. 1842, son of Lamkin Lacey Peyton)

Riley Peyton - Residence not listed; 20 years old. Enlisted on 5/2/1864 as a Corporal. On 5/13/1864 he mustered into “I” Co. Ohio 160th Infantry. He was mustered out on 9/7/1864 at Zanesville, Ohio. (Could be Asberry Riley b. 1843, son of Joseph Evin Peyton)

William T. Peyton - Residence not listed; 26 years old. Enlsited on 7/31/1862 as a Private. On 8/18/1862 he mustered into “A” Co. Ohio 95th Infantry. He was discharged for disability on 12/19/1862 at Columbus, Ohio. (Could be William T. b. 1836, son of Charles Lamkin Peyton)

Charles H. Peyton - Residence not listed; 24 years old. Enlisted on 7/31/1862 as a Private. On 8/18/1862 he mustered into “A” Co. Ohio 95th Infantry. He died on 8/16/1863 at Bear Creek, Mississippi Regiment Hospital. (Could be Charles Howard b. 1838, son of Charles Lamkin Peyton)

John Q. Peyton - Residence not listed; 21 years old. Enlisted on 11/15/1861 as a Private. On 1/10/1862 he mustered into “D” Co. Ohio 78th Infantry. He was discharged for disability on 11/26/1862 at Saint Louis, Missouri. (Could be John Quincy b. 1839, son of Joseph Evin Peyton)

Torrence Peyton - Residence not listed; 20 years old. Enlisted on 4/16/1864 as a Private. On 4/16/1864 he mustered into “D” Co. Ohio 78th Infantry. He was mustered out on 7/11/1865 at Louisville, Kentucky. (Could be Irvin Torrence b. 1845, son of Joseph Evin Peyton)

Joseph E. Peyton - Residence not listed; 31 years old. Enlisted on 8/30/1862 as a Private. On 8/30/1862 he mustered into “D” Co. Ohio 78th Infantry. He was mustered out on 5/30/1865 at Washington, D.C. Detached as Wagoner at 17th Army Corps Headquarters, 12/29/1863. (Could be Joseph E. b. 1833, son of Joseph Evin Peyton)
