are some listings from the civil war.
None of this is yet verified but the names and places of these
individuals correspond too closely to our family to be coincidence. I am writing for verification of some of
these people and I will post the findings when I receive them. I have ordered the NATF forms that I need
to get these records, but everything takes time. (Not good for us impatient ones)

Residence not listed; 21 years old. Enlisted on 2/14/1865 as a Private. On
3/5/1865 he mustered into “I” Co. Ohio 189th Infantry. He was mustered out on 5/18/1865 at
Nashville, TN. (Could be Joseph E.
Burkett b. 1844, son of Charles Henry Peyton)

M. Peyton -
Residence, Clover, Il; Enlisted on 9/10/1861 as a Private. On 9/19/1861 he mustered into “C” Co.
Illinois 9th Cavalry. He was discharged
for disability on 9/6/1863.
