Notes for Jenkins Luther Boozer: J. Luther Boozer was the last child fathered by Adam Luther Boozer since his father expired the year of his birth. Working at the Mollohon Cotton Mill of Newberry, he met and married Marcella Padgett who also worked there. Though he had inherited property on the Prosperity highway which came from his mother's Perkins family through his father's and mother's estates, he had sold his land to his relatives. In 1947, he was working at the Summer Furniture Store, and Mr. Summer asked him to help open a new store in Camden, S.C. along with John Fellers. After he accomplished this task, he decided to stay with this store as its manager and moved his family of wife and three children to Camden in 1948, the year his daughter, Mary Hellen Boozer had married William Darrell Phelps of Conneaut Lake, PA. at Newberry, S.C. at O'Neal Street U.M.C. J. Luther and Marcella Boozer, along with their three children, bought a house at 1306 Highland Ave. in Camden and lived there for many years until after Grandpa passed away.
