Ida was born 30 Jan. 1870 in Trembelle, Pierce Co., WI to William Long Hunter and Cora Edna Thing. After her husband Clifford's death, she and their son William Glenn returned to live with her parents until her marriage to Allen Maxfield around 1895. Ida and Allen had one son, Allen Jr.
