He was born September 1722 in Eschweiler, Zweybruker, Germany, and died 12 April 1787 in Staunton, Augusta County, Virginia.

In case my daughter Barbara should marry, and my wife Anna Maria and my son Jonas could not manage the said plantation after my decease, I will and order that my hereinafter named executors or survivors of them may let at their discretion.

(Note - P.W.U. - After Johns death (d. 1779) 89 acres was sold to a neighbor, Adam Heilman, a trusty friend of Heinrich Umberger. This transaction was done in the forepart of the 1780's.)

John Umberger...possessed a certain tract of warranted land situated in the township of Lebanon containing 250 acres"... (Executors of John Umberger's Will did appoint John Rupp, Jacob Ellenberger, John Dutweiler, and Rudolph Miller to value and appraise the plantation on March 31, 1786. Value 500 Lbs. Jacob Killenger and his wife Barbara are content with valuation. They received on June 18, 1791 200 lbs. from Jonas Umberger. Signed : Jacob Killenger & Barbara (?) Killenger)

He was born January 1729/30, and died December 1789 in West Hanover Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
