Philippe Piche was born on March 17, 1862 at St. Valere de Boulstrode in the province of Quebec.His wife, Alphonsine Lambert, was born at Woonsocket, Rhode Island, USA in 1859.They came to Prince Albert in 1910.They lived at Goshen Place in a saw mill company house.
In 1912, Philippe, Alphonsine and sons moved to Albertville.Philippe filed for SW 1/4 section 27, township 51, range 24 and lived there in a log shack for a few years.His son, Lucien, took over the homestead.Eventually this land was bought by Paul and Mabel Grimard and they took residence there. This farm is now owned by Ernest Brassard.
Philippe and Alphonsine moved in with the son, Ludger. For eight years, Philippe was the "bedeau" at Albertville Church, where he looked after the furnaces, the yards of the church and rectory, bellboy, repairman, etc.
Philippe and Alphonsine raised eight children: Alfred, Ludger, Rosaire, Maria, Luc, Arthur (Pete), Lucien and Yvonne.
Alphonsine passed away on June 23, 1947. He is well remembered by many of his grandchildren.
