Looking for "Jacinto Da Costa [Picadura] (b:1820-1881)" & wife "Ana Julia [Picadura] (b: Abt. 1830)" of Agua de Alto, Vila Franca do Campo, San Miguel, Azores..Time frame: 1820 to 1907. Known children: "Theresa" (1863-1942) married Manuel Jancito Mello Miller (1855-1935), in San Miguel, Azores; "Mary dos anjos" (b: 1852-1911) married Joseph Jacinto Mello (1846-1926); "Manoel da Costa" (b: 1865-1919) married Delvina T. Medeiros; and "Julia Ana" (b: 1870-1937) married John Mathias d'Andrade (1856-1935}, These children immigrated to Rhode Island, & Massachusetts, USA in about 1880 - 1907 time frame.

"Manuel Da Costa Picadura (1862-1919)"; left Sao Miguel & immigrated to Hana, Maui, Sandwich Isles [Hawaiian Kingdom] on 27 March 1882. Married: "Augusta Maria Rodrigues (1873-1930)" (daughter of Joao Jacinto Rodrigues & Rosa da Conciecao Salgada of Matriz, Vila Franca, San Miguel, Azores) in October 1886, Hana, Maui, Kingdom of Hawaii & worked for Hana Sugar Mill as a Blacksmith until April 1897. Left Hawaii, with family to go to Massachusetts, USA, however, the cold weather forced him to return to the Territory of Hawaii. Had a new contract in Waianae Sugar Company, Waianae, Ewa County, Oahu, Territory of Hawaii; from 1898 to May 31,1916. From June 1916 to July 4,1919, Manuel & his family resided on Mokauea St. & North Queen St., in Kalihi, Honolulu County, Hawaii Territory. He had a total of 18 children. (9 boys & 6 girls, that lived.) Complete data on Manuel's life in Hawaii is available.
Names of his children were: "Lucinda (Lucy) De Costa Picadura (1889-1973)" married to Joseph Schulmeister (1877-1927), who had a son & a daughter.; "Emmanuel DeCosta Picadura {Manuel, Jr.}(1892-1942)" married to Marie Smith (1893-1974) of California,no children.; "Jacintho (Jacinth) De Costa Picadura (1893-1973)" married to Emily Aulani Harper (1884-1971), no children.; "Jose (Joe) De Costa Picadura (1895-1959)" married to Agnes Pacheco (1897-1987), who had 2 sons & 2 daughters.; "Julia De Costa Picadura (1897-1898)"; "August De Costa Picadura (1899-1961) married to Christina Soares (1898-1981), who had a daughter; "Julia De Costa Picadura (1901-1998)" married to Frank Harris (1882-1982) who had 2 daughters & a son; "William De Costa Picadura (1902-1981)" married to Ludowina (Laura) De Freitas Caires (1906-1990), who had 2 sons & a daughter.; "Victoria De Costa Picadura (1904-1904)"; "Francisco (Frank) De Costa Picadura (1905-1985)" married to Mary Virginia Humphreys (1911-1984)of MO., no children.; "Joao (John) De Costa Picadura (1908-1959)" married to Lois Gudrum Nelson (1921-1981), has a daughter. "Raul De Costa Picadura (1909-1909)"; "Rosa (Rose) De Costa Picadura (1910-1993)" married to Irvin Leslie Kallymer (1906-1991), has a son & a daughter; "Victor De Costa Picadura (1912-1971)"; and "Cecelia De Costa Picadura (1917-2001)" married to Woodrow Wilson Bragg (1918-1977) of , Weakley, Tennessee, has a daughter.

"Antonio DaCosta Picadura" (1860-....} married to "Maria Cese Medeiros" (1868-....) immigrated to New Bedford, MA in 1908. They had 3 known children per immigration records. (No other data known on this clan.) Surname on immigration was shown as "Picadeiro", in later Boston Arrival records it was shown as "Picadura". Address given as: 421 Belleville Ave., New Bedford, MA.

"Jose Costa Picadura" (1864-....) Married to "Maria C. C. Medeiros" (1873-....) They had 2 known children per immigration records. Per 1900 US Census he came to the US in 1883 and worked as a Gold Miner in Kimshew, Butte, California, left California and returned to Boston, MA in 1913.(No other data was found on this clan). Surname on immigration was shown as "Picadeiro", in later Boston Arrival records it was shown as "Picadura". In 1915 he was shown as living at 73 Davis St.; Surname: "Costa".
