The Picklesimers of eastern Kentucky settled in Floyd County, Kentucky, (Now Johnson County) in the early 1800's. The first to settle there was Abraham Adam Picklesimer, his wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Prater, and four of their seven children. (The last three being born after they moved to Kentucky.) Abraham and Betsy were married in Virginia and their first two children were born there. They moved from Botetourt County, Virginia to Gallia County, Ohio, living there for about seven years. They then moved on to eastern Kentucky with their four children. A few years later Abraham's brother, David moved from northern Kentucky to eastern Kentucky. He married Sarah Prater, daughter of Archibald and Sarah (Fugate) Prater. All of the Picklesimers of eastern Kentucky are descendants of these two family members that settled in what is now Johnson County, Kentucky.

I would like for this history of the Picklesimer Family to be as complete and accurate as possible. Even if you find everything is accurate, I would still like to hear from my cousins.
