Charles H. Hamilton, 76, of Fredericksburg, died Feb. 20 in the Mary Washington Hospital.
A native of Loudoun County, Mr. Hamilton was a retired automobile mechanic for Chrysler Corp.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Madeline Virginia Snoots-Hamilton of Fredericksburg; two sons, Charles Hamilton Jr. of Fredericksburg and Larry A. Hamilton of Glen Allen; two daughters, Nancy Souders of Manassas and Gloria Hamilton of Florida; four brothers, Bruce and Eddie Hamilton of Maryland, Roy Hamilton of Fairfax and Kenny Hamilton of West Virginia; three sisters, Virginia Newcomb, Dorothy Magaha and Shirley Duley, all of Loudoun County; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Friday in the Mullins & Thompson Fredericksburg Chapel. Interment followed in Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas.
Memorials may be sent to the Ladysmith Baptist Church, 18290 Jefferson Davis Highway, Ladysmith, VA.
Arrangements: Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service in Fredericksburg.

She married Alton Carr Whitmore 1925, son of Thomas Whitmore and Grace Zimmerman. He was born June 22, 1905, and died May 20, 1962 in Frederick, Frederick Co., MD.

"Mrs. L. Mae Whitmore
Mrs. L. Mae Whitmore, 95, of 115 Record St., Frederick, died
Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the Record Street Home.
She was the wife of Alton C. Whitmore Sr., who died May 20,
1962.
Born Feb. 13, 1905, in Brunswick, she was a daughter of the
late Harvey C. Sr. and Odie Estelle Snoots Butler.
Mrs. Whitmore owned and operated the Wachter and
Hildebrand hat shop, near the square corner on West Patrick
Street, from 1956 to 1967.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Frederick.
Surviving are one daughter, Lareaux Crampton and husband
John C. of Frederick; one son, Alton C. Whitmore Jr. and wife
Barbara of Philadelphia; one stepgranddaughter, Heather
Drake; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Crampton and wife Regina
of Jefferson, Alesa Seymour and husband Donald, J. Eric
Crampton, and Lori Cromwell and husband Steven, all of
Frederick, Alton C. Whitmore III and wife Jan of Kingston,
N.Y., Shirley Webster and husband Gary, Bruce Whitmore and
wife Nancy, and Sean Whitmore, all of Alaska; 14
great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, Tanner and
Myiah Seymour, both of Walkersville; and two nephews, Alton
Summers Jr. of Texas, and Donald Butler of Frederick.
Mrs. Whitmore was preceded in death by one brother, Harvey
C. Butler Jr.; and one sister, Frances C. Summers.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Private services
with interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions
be made to Home for the Aged, 115 Record St., Frederick, Md.
21701.
Arrangements are by Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St.,
Frederick."

Mr. Harvey Conard Butler Jr., 85, of 6813 Plantation Road, Frederick, died Sunday, Oct. 18, at Reeders Memorial Home, Boonsboro.
He was the husband of Mrs. Catherine Zepp Butler.
Born in Frederick on Feb. 10, 1907, he was a son of the late Harvey C. and Odie Snoots Butler Sr.
Mr. Butler had worked for Coca Cola of Frederick, Fort Detrick and retired from Highs Dairy.
He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are one son, Donald R. Butler and his wife Betty J. of Frederick; one daughter, Alberta Baker of Urbana; one daughter-in-law, Faye Butler of Hopewell, Va.; two sisters, Mae Whitmore and Frances Summers, both of Frederick, one half-sister, Clara Mae Tobery of Frederick; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Harvey C. Butler III and Gene D. Butler, and one daughter, Yvonne Butler.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. The Rev. A.D. Salmon, rector of All Saints Episcopal Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Mrs. Butler had worked at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School in food service. She was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church, Frederick.
Surviving are a son, Donald Butler and wife Betty J. of Frederick; a daughter, Alberta Baker of Urbana;
a daughter-in-law, Faye Butler of Hopewell, Va.; a half sister, Betsy Carr of Frederick; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Harvey C. Butler III and Gene Butler, and a daughter, Yvonne
Butler.
Friends may call 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E.
Church St., Frederick. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m.
Thursday, May 18, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. James R. Scale, rector of the All Saints Episcopal Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
