Mr. Marshall William Snoots, 63, of 9 S. Maple St., Brunswick, died Saturday, June 3, at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was a son of the late Willie and Felicia Grandel Snoots of Brunswick.
He was retired from the Washington Terminal Company and, for the last three years, had been an employee of the Town of Brunswick.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Tharpe Snoots; one son, Robert W. Snoots, at home; one sister, Lucille Kline, Frederick; and one brother, Herman A. Snoots, Springfield, W.Va.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, from the Feete Funeral Home, Brunswick.The Rev. Boyd Frank, First Baptist Church of Brunswick, will officiate.Interment location will be announced later.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday, June 5.

Mr. Herman Snoots
Mr. Herman Albert Snoots, 75, of Fort Ashby, W.Va., formerly of Brunswick, died Saturday, July 6, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
He was the husband of Eleanor Parker Snoots.
Born July 8, 1920, in Brunswick, he was a son of the late Willie William and Felicia Grandell Snoots.
Mr. Snoots served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.In 1980, he retired from the Chessie System, where he had been a train master.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Fort Ashby, where he had served as a deacon; Keedyville Lodge 197, A.F.&A. Masons; and the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Joan Snoots Powell, and Diane Snoots Higson and husband Tim, all of Cumberland; one sister, Lucille Snoots Kline of Frederick; five grandchildren, Leslie Powell Keidel and husband Mark, Cassie Powell Stambaugh and husband Allen, Sonya Higson Eisentrout and husband Erik, Timberly Higson VanMeter and husband Troy, and Felissa Snoots Sifford and husband Willie; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Snoots was preceded in death by his first wife, Audrey Webber Snoots; one brother, Marshall Snoots; and one grandson, Richard Powell.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 8, at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Route 28, Fort Ashby.Funeral services will begin there at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, with the Rev. Mark Baugh officiating.Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
Memorial contributions may be made to Springfield Volunteer Fire Department, Springfield, W.Va. 26763.

ELEANOR M SNOOTS
ANDOVER, Kan. -- Eleanor Mae Snoots, 81, of Andover, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at the Vyne at Crestview of Wichita. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at the Parker Cemetery in Arkansas City.
Eleanor was born on March 1, 1920, in Wagoner County, Okla., to Roscoe and Nettie (Clotfelter) Parker. She was reared and educated in Wagoner County, graduating from Wagoner High School in 1938. Eleanor married, Joseph Breighner in 1943, and they made their home in Cumberland. He preceded her in death in 1966. She later married, Herman Snoots and the couple continued to live in the Cumberland area until his death in 1996. Eleanor worked as a clerk in the hospital in Cumberland, taught ceramics out of her home, and later she and her husband worked as volunteers for local emergency medical services. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Bel Aire, W.Va.
Survivors include two daughters, Jonna Castle of Denver, Colo., and Sandra Raines of Mansfield, Ohio; three sisters, Elizabeth Treger of Arvada, Colo., Frances Coskey of Stockton, Mo., and Wilma Louis of Arkansas City; six grandsons; three granddaughters, especially Cassie Shambaugh of Ridgeley, W.Va.; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands.
A memorial has been established with the Samaritan's Purse. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Arrangements are being made by the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City, Kan.

Mrs. Mildred Winifred Carey, 80, of 5785 Box Elder
Court, Frederick, died Monday, Feb. 7, at Frederick
Memorial Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Harold F. Carey.
Born Dec. 13, 1919, in Brunswick, she was the daughter of
Chester L. and Bertie Snoots Phillips.
She was a retired sales clerk with JCPenney and Rosens in
Frederick.
She was member of the Edgewood Church of God,
Frederick.
She is survived by two sons, Jan Harold Carey and wife
Eleanor of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Jerry Gene Carey and wife
Trish Hammond of Frederick; one sister, T9CDinterman of
Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Carey and wife
Carolyn of Penn Run, Pa., Shawn Carey and wife Kathy of
Frederick, and Cindy Palermo and husband Louis of
Apollo, Pa.; three stepgrandchildren, Todd Hammond of
Myersville, Reidd Hammond of Middletown, and Bradd
Hammond and wife Ann of Frederick; four
great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; three
step great-great-grandchildren; two cousins; and several
nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at John T. Williams Funeral
Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick, Wednesday, Feb.
9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be
open on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m.
at the funeral home. The Rev. Duanne Beck will officiate.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Lovettsville, Va.

Mr. Harold Forrest Carey, 68, of 4824A Old National Pike, Frederick, died Saturday, Oct. 22, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of Mildred Winifred Phillips Carey.
Born Feb. 16, 1915, at Boliver, W. Va., he was a son of the late Vincent and Hallie Riley Carey.
Mr. Carey was a retired policeman with 36 years service with the B&O Railroad.He was a member of the Railway and Steamship Clerk's Association.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jan Harold Carey, Murrysville. Pa., and Jerry G. Carey, Frederick; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth C. Shufelt, Seal Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Frances Stierstedter, Hesteria, Calif.; one brother, Earle R. Carey, Odenton,and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct 26, at the John T. Williams Funeral Home, Brunswick. Father Peter Hiltz will officiate. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery, Lovettsville, Va.
