After the division of Mary's fathers Estate in 1850, she and her husband with their eight children moved to Natchitoches Parish,LA.
Mary's roll # on the Indian Rolls is: control # NRFF-75-53A-50899, Group 75, Series 53A, Item # 50899.
Her Enrollment # on her Census Card: 3267. Claims she is Creek and the residence was Tuskegee.
At the time of Mary's death, she had left her four youngest children at home.

Notes for CAROLINE MATILDA WEATHERFORD:
Caroline's descendants lived around Flomaton and Century, FL.
Caroline had written a letter on July 5, 1909. She had stated in her letter that her grandfather was Charles Weatherford who was a Scotchman who came to Georgia and who made his home close to the Cherokee Nation and raised race horses. Caroline also had stated in the letter that Charles son was William who was Chief and he named another son John, which she said was her father. She stated that her mother's father was "Dyer" and that he was an Englishman. And that he had also taken an Indian Bride and had a daughter named Martha. Here is a "typed" version of Mrs. Caroline W. Killiam's letter to Mr. Guion Miller while she was in Bluff Springs, Florida. As stated above, the letter is dated the 5 July 1909. And was submitted to the Archives by Mrs. Rob Weatherford of Monroeville, Alabama. It is in Caroline's own words.

I will rite (sic) you all that I have heard of my Indian blood that was told me by my Mother. Charles Weatherford came to Gorgia (sic). he was a Scotchman with raise horses. when he made his home in Georgia he stoped (sic) close to the Cherokees nation. there about he got a wife raised a family. his son William joined Indians in the war to fight becaused (sic) his Mother spoked the Indian tongue. on my Mothers side her Father was Englishman his name was Dyer. his wife said to be of the Indian tribe. my Mother married John Weatherford, the children all come to Alabma (sic) Monroe County. I was borned raised in Monroe County. I am the niece of William Weatherford the Indian Chief. my Mothers Family ware (sic) all killed in Fort Mims but two. mother was quite small. she was in Mobile with her married sister. those two was all of the Family that was saved. I am John Weatherford Daughter. will be 93 years old the 3rd of November.
I ware (sic) living in Monroe County in 1835 and 1851. as for we to get any one to prove any thing about my ansesters (sic). they are dead. those that knew me are all gone--moved off. I am alone. all of my relatives are dead but my children. as for my claim what I have heard I claim both Creeks and Cherrekees (sic). this was told to me by my mother. I cannot get the Indian name of my ansesters (sic) they all have been dead. when I was quite small my Father died. I was small. his name was John Weatherford a brother of William Weatherford. this all that I can do about my claim. my Childrens claim you have all of my childrens names up there. my relative never was held as slaves. I never lived in Florida until recently I claim my Cherokees on the Weatherford side because he stoped (sic) close to the Cherokee Nation. he got his wife. Dyer lived in Alabama Monroe County whare (sic) the Creeks Indians ware (sic) all of this was told me by my Mother. this is all I know about the claims. my Parents never enroled (sic). or got any money as I ever heard of or any thing else with him on. it will be kindly received and I am widow have been for long time. there is not man in town that know any thing about my People as I know of . I am a niece of William Weatherford the Indian Chief. my Father was William Weatherford Brother John. my Mother was Martha Dyer. my grand parents Weatherford was a Schotsman (sic) married an Indian. Dyer was an Englishman married an Indian.

Notes for JOHN DYER WEATHERFORD:
John assisted General Andrew Jackson during the Creek War. He had served in Capt. T.C. English's company of the Confederate mounted infantry. He was then given a land grant by Jackson. John and his family lived in Monroe Co., AL. He appears on the 1854 tax list.
John married his cousin Elizabeth who was the daughter of George Tunstall and Louisa Matilda Mary Tate.
John is buried on his land with both of his wives. His plantation was not far from Little River which was on the Shomo Creek in Alabama.
John and both of his wives were buried under a tree grove on the old homeplace of Mr. Rob Weatherford in Mt. Pleasant.
The marriage of John and Elizabeth states that Jonathan English as security and A.J. Lambert as Minister.
