Notes for C
LISBY RIGGS JONES:
Clisby was a wonderful fiddle player. Martin gave his son the name Clisby which has been handed down for 200 years in the family. And if you should run across the name Clisby, you know they're our kin. Clisby "Tibb 1" volunteered in May 1861 for services in the Confederate States of America Army (CSA), with the Green's Brigade, Co., D, 7th Texas Calvary. He and Malinda had six sons and several son-in- laws that went to war, but only two of the sons, John Hodges and Albert Champion would return with their father Clisby.. In 1840, Clisby Riggs and Malinda Jones were living in White Co., Arkansas. at Old Royal Colony, where Albert " Champ " was born. In 1846, they were in Polk Co., Texas at Jones Prairie where their son Beverly was born. In the next year or two they moved to the Old Palestine area which is near Magnolia, Arkansas. This being where Josephine and Georgia Ann were born. He was in Columbia Co., Arkansas in 1860. After 1860 they moved back to Texas to Angelina Co. and this is where Clisby Riggs Jones pre-empted on land just northwest of Jonesville.
At the March Term of 1849, Clisby R. Jones filed his resignation as Administrator, which was acccepted, and John Hodges Jones (brother of Clisby and Jesse), filed application to be appointed Administrator de bonis non (of the goods not administered). This application was filed on 5 March 1849, and on 26 March 1849, John Hodges jones was appointed Administrator de bonis non of each of these estates, and on that date filed his bond and oath.
On the 1850 Lafayette Co., Arkansas Census, Clisby, Catherine and their son William are listed as persons who could not read or write;

Notes for M
ALINDA VANWINKLE:
Melinda's grave is lost, but she is buried in the Jonesville Cemetery. Malinda may have been the administrator for her brother-in-laws Will for his minor children as I have seen some info. stating that Mrs. Clisby Jones was his widow and the minor heirs to his Will being Rhoda Emaline, Eliza Jane, John Calloway and Enoch C. Believe Malinda was never his widow which led to some confusion in a past family tree.
