He married (1) MARY ELLEN TREAT 23 Aug 1903 in Chickasaw Nation, Ardmore, Carter Co., Oklahoma, daughter of IGNATIOUS TREAT and MARTHA ROBERTS. She was born 17 Jun 1885 in Arkansas or Indian Territory, Oklahoma, and died Bet. 1907 - 1910 in Possibly Ardmore, Carter Co., Oklahoma. He married (2) JOSEPHINE FLORENCE PAGACH 13 Apr 1912 in Cornish, Jefferson Co., Oklahoma, daughter of GEORGE PAGACH and MARY TUCNICK. She was born 24 Mar 1894 in New Castle, Lawrence Co., Pennsylvania, and died 28 May 1953 in New Castle, Lawrence Co., Pennsylvania.

Notes for JESSE HARRISON SR. JONES:
After the death of Mary, Jesse and Rufus were living with Jesse's mother Lizzie. They are listed in her household on the 1910 Earl Twnshp. of Jefferson Co., Oklahoma. Jesse then married Florence Pagash whom he met through correspondence while he was residing in Oklahoma. She then came to Oklahoma and married Jesse. Jesse was a Coal Miner, then worked for a Glass Factory. Jesse and Florence moved to New Castle, Lawrence Co., Pa. We have a picture of Jesse, his sisters Mamey, Florence, Mamey's daughter Nettie King (Benton) and Nettie's daughter Barbara Nell Benton as a toddler when Jesse had come home to visit in 1941 to Jefferson County, Oklahoma. Jesse' brothers were living at the time in Carter County. He told his sisters at the time that it would be the last time they were to see him and he wanted to say good-bye. Three years later, Jesse had died of Cancer...
In 1930 they are residing in Union Lawrence Co., Pa. The Census states that Josephine and her parents were all born in Austria.

Notes for MARY ELLEN TREAT:
Some past research stated that Jesse Harrison's spouse and Rufus' mother may have had the given name of Jewell. In Ardmore Marriage records I find the marriage of J.H. Jones married Mary E. Treat on 23 Aug 1903 in Record Book G, Pg. 364. I believe this to be Rufus' mother.
NOTE; There is a Mary Jones buried in the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson (outside of Ardmore, Carter Co., Ok.) Believe it to be Mary Treat. No dates are given in the Carter Co., online records.

Josephine was homesick, so she and Jesse decided to move near her kin around 1921, at that time Pennsylvania was much more civilized and advanced than Oklahoma. Before leaving Oklahoma, Florence had been working in a field when she was bitten by a rattle snake on the back side of her leg near her knee. The knee continued to give her problems for the rest of her days...
