Notes for C
LISBY RIGGS SR. JONES:
Clisby played the fiddle and so did his son Paul. His son Clisby Jr. played the guitar.
Clisby died a tragic death. He burned to death trying to get the family out of the house when it was on fire. He went back into the house to get his brother Jasper who was bedridden at the time with cancer. After getting Jasper out of the house, Clisby returned to retrieve some of their items. Clisby was burned beyond recognition. On his death certificate, it lists him as a Farmer. The marriage license of Clisby and Gertie states as their witnesses as Diane Wisdom and Grey Folsom, both of Loco, Oklahoma. The certificate also states that the license was issued on 30 Sept. 1919. And that they were married on 4 Oct. 1919. The license was recorded on 6 Oct. 1919 on page 432 of the marriage record # 5. G.A. Witt being Court Clerk.

Notes for F
LORENCE AGNES JONES:
MaMa Thatcher as her grandchildren called her, is buried next to her husband Bertis in the I.O.O.F. Ringling Cemetery in Jefferson Co. Ringling, OK. I was told that she was very sweet. When Bertis and Florence had the twins, Loyd and Lois they had no money so Bertis gave the doctor Florences brand new sewing machine that she was so proud of, for payment of the delivery of her two new babies. The Thatchers' and Jones' families were next door neighbors and that's how Bertis and Florence met.
Florence belonged to the Gospel Church.
I have a vague memory of walking along a chain-linked fence and trying to walk as slow as I could because what was ahead frightened me as a child. This was really my first introduction to any church. It was a Pentecostal Church, and for a young child, it was frightening to see the adults hollering to the ceiling, holding hands, dancing and the likes. Being so young I did not understand the concept. Now I look back and have to laugh at myself.
There is a Florence Jones # 1025, on the Guion Miller Roll. Is this person the same as my g.grandmother??
Florence was short in statue, she was only 5' 2". On Florence and Bertis' marriage license for the witnesses it states them to be her mother Mrs. Lizzie Priest and Addie Harris. The marriage is recorded on page 377 of the Marriage Book of 1910-1920. The last name of Lizzie being Priest may have been a typo for the family believes the surname to have been Price for Lizzie's second spouse.

Notes for B
ERTIS T. THATCHER:
Bertis was called PaPa Thatcher by his grandchildren. He was a wonderful Carpenter. I have been told that he had a gift for not having to measure off anything that he had built, he could tell just by looking, the exact measurements of a building. Birt had black hair and the brightest blue eyes. He is buried with his wife Florence in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Jefferson Co., Ringling, OK. Bertis built his home himself on his homestead and years later he had built a house next to it for his son Ray Delmon and his new bride Esther. Dollie is buried next to Birt's father John in the Cornish Cemetery. Bertis also had a brother named Dolan who lived in Ringling, OK. The Thatcher family came across the country in a covered wagon. Birt died in the rock house that he had built. I was told that he was Dutch, Irish, and 1/2 Cherokee indian. Bertis had met Florence when the Thatcher family and Jones family were neighbors at Cornish.
On one of the Census', it said that Birt was born in Kansas.
