Leslie's occupation was a barber. His son Leslie Waymon would follow in his fathers career choice.
Leslie Lee was murdered and thrown in Mudcreek River, south of Ringling, OK. It was never proven who murdered him, but there were suspicions of a named suspect.     
Here is an article that was placed in the Ringling Eagle on 13 June 1996 in Ringling, Oklahoma. The article also shares with the readers, a photo of Leslie Lee King. Here, I quote the article:
"REMEMBER HIM??
Leslie Lee King
October 8, 1911- June 14, 1989     
He lived here all of his life, until he was shot and his body rolled into the waters of Mud Creek. Though he has been forgotten by many of you, the insignificant manner in which his murder was handled and perceived, should not be forgotten. Because of this, we now know the Legal System does not work, we're not that naive anymore. We now believe violent and illegal acts are handled in two ways: (1)-if committed against certain elite groups, then justice will be served: (2)- if committed against the poor, average, working class, then the crimes and evidence will be swept under a rug or conveniently lost and forgotten, just like Leslie's murder was.
Well, we haven't forgotten Leslie. We are his family. We miss him, his smile, his warmth, his sense of humor, his kindness, his generosity and the love he had for all of us. No one had the right to take him away from us. A person does not have the right to take the life of another person.
We wonder what all of you who could have helped, by admitting the things you saw or heard, will do when you stand before GOD and ( instead of asking you why you did not help), He might just say to you what he will say to the murderer and accomplice or accomplices: "DEPART FROM ME, I NEVER KNEW YOU," then give instruction for you to be "ESCORTED TO THE REGIONS BELOW." We sncerely hope that all of you like hot temperatures...

King died May 8, 1997, in the Ardmore hospital. He was born Jan. 20, 1914, at Cornish, to James L. and Mamey A. Jones King.
A lifelong resident of this area, he was a carpenter and Army veteran of World War II. He and Martha Bell Williams were married May 31, 1958, in Cooke County, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, of the home in Wilson; a daughter, Carolyn Keeton, Wilson; a son, Tommy Dudley, Healdton; two brothers, Edgar, Wilson, and Vernie, Waterford, Calif.; a sister, Nettie Benton, Healdton; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hershell and Leslie.
Bearers are Steve Keeton and Kenneth King."

"RINGLING -- Graveside rites for Nettie M. Benton, 82, Healdton, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at Ringling Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Ellen Abshire officiating.
Mrs. Benton was born Feb. 27, 1916, at Cornish, Okla., to James Lucin and Mamey Ann Jones King. She died Sept. 6, 1998, in Ardmore.
Reared at Cornish, she attended school at Cornish, Loco and Center Point. She was married to Lloyd Robert Benton on Feb. 1, 1936, at Duncan. They lived in the Ringling/Cornish area until 1956, then moved to Palm Dale, Calif., then to Midwest City in 1959. In 1982 they returned to Healdton. Mr. Benton preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1988. She was also preceded by two daughters, Wilma Jean Benton in 1944, and Barbara Benton Eppler, in 1989; her parents; and three brothers, Hershell, Leslie and Curtis King.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Lyle of Healdton; a son, Gary Lloyd Benton of Moore; two brothers, Edgar King of Wilson, and Vurney King of Waterford, Calif.; five grandchildren, Jerri Nell Eppler, Steve Eppler, Shelley Mahurin, Mandy Lemmons and Sandra Carr; and three great-grandchildren, Cassidy Eppler, Brenna Mahurin and Kasey Carr.
Bearers will be family members.
Alexander Funeral Home will direct services."
