"WILSON -- Funeral services for Edgar D. King, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sid Bazzrea officiating. Interment will be at Cornish Cemetery.
Born on March 24, 1920, to James Lucian and Mamey Ann Jones King in Cornish, he died on Nov. 6, 2004 in Ardmore.
He married Maimita Dean Lee on March 6, 1953, in Gainesville, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Nettie Benton; brothers, Leslie, Curtis and Hershell Lee King, and twin infant daughters.
Raised in Cornish, Mr. King had been a resident of Wilson since his marriage. He worked as a mechanic his entire life and at one time operated the DX station in Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of the home; six sons, Donald, Kerbyville, Texas, Edward, Columbia, Tenn., Clifford, Wilson, Jim and Terry, of the home and Ronnie, Ringling; three daughters, Tammy White, Bay Minette, Ala., Connie Slawson, Healdton, and Carolyn Hayes, Spring, Texas; one brother, Vurney King, Modesto, Calif., 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Clifford King, Brad King, Josh White, Alan White, Billy Johnson and Matthew Cox.
Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home."
