Notes for RAY DELMAN THATCHER:
On Ray's and Bertha marriage license it states they were married by R.A. Hall who was Justice of the Peace in Cornish. The Witnesses are stated as being the mother of the groom Mrs. Florence Thatcher and Vurney King which is Ray's first cousin.
Ray's daughter Sharon Lee has told me she remembers her father's sister Hazel who is my grandmother. She says that Hazel looked like her mom Florence. Sharon also remembers my grandfather Arie who is Ray's brother-in-law also. She told me of a trip the kin took to Oregon one hot summer to visit Norma. Ray, Bertha, Judy and Judy's son Ray and Sharon all took the trip. She says it was a trip she will never forget. They had little money, no air conditioning and a baby with them. To get home, money became quite scarce, so Ray and Arie would stop and pawn things out of the trunk of the car, such as their rod and reels and anything they could sell to get home to Oklahoma. By the grace of God, as stated by Sharon, they did eventually make it back home.

Notes for LOYD EUGENE THATCHER:
Loyd and his wife live in Ringling, OK. He lives on the family Homestead of Bertis and Florence Thatcher's (his parents) place. He had purchased the property through Raymond Burleson (Hazel's son) years ago, after Hazel inherited the property and turned it over to her children. Loyd and Bertha remodeled the home.
Loyd's nickname is Bubber by family members. Loyd is a retired Carpenter and City Employee in Ringling, Oklahoma from which he retired after eleven years.

"RINGLING -- Services for Loyd Eugene Thatcher, 74, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Community Fellowship Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jack Barron officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Cemetery.
Born Feb. 13, 1928, in Ringling to Bert and Florence Jones Thatcher, he died Nov. 22, 2002, at an Ardmore hospital. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyliss Lynn Thatcher, a grandson, Jeremy Thatcher; two brothers, Mutt and Ray Thatcher; and four sisters, Lois Mitchell, Agnus Copeland, Hazel Burleson, and Mary Jane Hacker.

He married Bertha Mae Sullivan on March 6, 1952, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Thatcher was raised in Ringling. He worked for the Stroud Lumber Yard and was a self-employed carpenter for a number of years. He also worked for the City of Ringling Water Department until retiring in 1993. He was associated with the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Vickey Stine, Duncan, and Peggy Christian and Marilyn Griffith, both of Ringling.

Bearers are Troy Huggins, Joe Boswell, Les Sullivan, Ronnie Mitchell, Jerry Mitchell and H.L. Mitchell.

Visitation will be at noon today at Roberts Funeral Home, Healdton; and at the church starting at 9 a.m. Monday until the time of service."

"Graveside funeral services for Lois Mitchell Burleson, 70, were at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 24, 1998, in Ringling Memorial Cemetery with Brother Jimmy Taylor officiating.
Mrs. Burleson died Friday night, May 22, 1998, in an Ardmore hospital.
The daughter of Bert and Florence Jones Thatcher, she was born February 13, 1929, in Ringling, and lived most of her life in Ringling.
She worked for Stromberg-Carlson in Ardmore and had attended the Gospel Tabernacle.
Survivors include three son, H.L. Mitchell of Wilson, Jerry Mitchell of Ringling, and Ronnie Mitchell of Ringling, one daughter Mary Lois Gregg of Maysville, one brother, Lloyd Thatcher of Ringling, 13 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Jim Mitchell in 1987.
Bearers were her grandsons, Randy Hunt, Jamie Hunt, Randy Mitchell, Jody Mitchell, Steven Mitchell, Kelly Mitchell and Gary Don Mitchell.
Services were directed by Reser Funeral Home.

RP lived in Ringling, Oklahoma off and on for many years.
RP was in a nursing home in Ringling, OK. where he died. Graveside services were at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery in Ringling, OK. with Jimmy Taylor officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
RP worked as a carpenter. He was survived by his wife Lois who followed him in death the following year, and his brother Delbert who resides in Wichita Falls, Texas, who is now in a nursing home at the time of this writting.
