The home was built circa 1836.It is speculated that Gen. Albert Sidney Johnston had stayed in the home in March 1862 to organize his army. The home was sold in 1869 to Jerome Hinds who was a Union Soldier from Ill. Jerome's daughter Grace Hinds who would later marry Lord Curzon (England's Viceroy of India) was born in the home. Later the home was used as a boarding home and Hotel before it stood vacant. Mr. R.P.McEntire then purchased it on April 5 1895. This photo was taken circa 1902. In the yard is R.P, his wife Frances Hudson and son Leroy.
