9. WALKER⁴ BOND (JOHN³, WILLIAM², WILLIAM¹) was born 1798 in Scott, KY, and died Abt. 15 September 1864 in Carroll, KY. He married LUCY STEGAR 01 March 1827 in Owen, KY ²⁶. She was born Abt. 1800, and died Bef. 1860 in Carroll, KY.

Notes for WALKER BOND:
      Walker Bond was born 1798/1799 in the northern part Scott Co., KY. He was named after his uncle Walker Bond (~1767-1832) who lived nearby. Walker was probably the surname of #11's grandmother Fanny. As a boy, he accompanied his family in 1803 to a part of Gallatin Co., KY that would later become Owen Co., KY.

      He lived in his father's household until his marriage 1 Mar 1827 .

      Walker Bond and Lucy Stegar received a small legacy from her father, John Stegar, in 1830 .

      Walker purchased in 1833 150 acres of land on Eagle Creek in Gallatin Co. from the Rev. John Scott, the father of his sister-in-law Harriet, wife of William Bond. In fact, this land is very close to the parcel that John Scott gave to William and Harriet 10 years earlier.

      Census records show that the marriage produced only two children, a boy and a girl, as shown below.

      Lucy died sometime between the 1850 and 1860 censes. Walker died ~15 Sep 1864, when his will was probated . His will divided his estate, consisting of 127 acres on Lick Creek, Carroll Co. (probably the same land as above), and a slave and her seven children, equally between his two children. Considering the date, a legacy of slaves had dubious value.

Walker was named after his uncle Walker, one of the four brothers (John, William, Robert and Walker) who, along with Robert Sale, came to KY about 1800.

10. ELIZABETH⁴ BOND (JOHN³, WILLIAM², WILLIAM¹) was born 09 April 1803 in Gallatin, KY ²⁷, and died Unknown. She married JOHN TAYLOR SCOTT 15 August 1828 in Owen, KY²⁷, son of JOHN SCOTT and JANE SNEED. He was born 10 August 1805 in Gallatin, KY²⁷, and died 17 June 1839 in Carroll, KY²⁷.

11. BEUFORD⁴ BOND (JOHN³, WILLIAM², WILLIAM¹) was born September 1817 in New Liberty, Owen, KY ²⁸, and died Aft. 1900 in Owen, KY. He married AMANDA SEARCY 19 December 1844 in New Liberty, Owen, KY ²⁹. She was born Abt. 1826 in KY ³⁰, and died Unknown.

Notes for BEUFORD BOND:
      Half of the records pertaining to this man call him Bluford, and half call him Buford. His actual name is Beuford, as inscribed on his tombstone. He was born 14 Sep 1817 in Gallatin Co., KY, about 5 miles south of Sparta (this area is now Owen Co.).

      That Beuford is the son of John Bond and Johanna Holladay has to be deduced from the following: 1) he lived in the New Liberty area following John's death, yet did not purchase property there - he probably farmed (perhaps renting from his half-brother Robert) John's old property when Johanna moved to Grant Co., 2) his first born is named Lindsay, b. 1846 - John C. Lindsay ? check this was the executor of John Bond's estate in 1846, 3) he testified for Johannah Bond's 1872 pension application (see above), and 4) Johannah Bond lived in his household in her old age .

      On 19 Dec 1844, he married Amanda Searcy in Owen Co. . She was born 1826/1827 . The names of their children can be obtained from 1850-1870 census records. Unlike his brothers John, Warren and Allen, who lived in Grant Co., KY for a time before returning to Owen Co., Beuford always resided in the Owenton District of Owen Co. Even though he was the oldest male of Johannah, he was not the oldest male of John Bond, and John Bond's land dexcended to Robert Bond (1792-1856).
