6. DANIEL3 MCMILLAN (HUGH2, HUGH1)1 was born 1752 in Rasharkin, Antrim, Ireland1, and died August 08, 1838 in Warren-Henderson, IL. He married JEAN THOMPSON1. She was born 1756 in Scotland, and died Aft. October 09, 1805 in Chester, SC.

Notes for DANIEL MCMILLAN:
Daniel didn't like his father's second wife. At age 16, he ran away from home. He and his brother Hugh came to America about 1768 - 1769. They settle in South Carolina.

Daniel McMillan was a Revolutionary Soldier. On 7 June 1832, Daniel received a Rev. War Pension issued in Chester County, SC. Sometime after 1832 & before 1836 he moved north of the Ohio River.
Daniel McMillan died in 1838, in Biggsville, Illinois

Daniel left two known brothers here in South Carolina. The brothers were Henry McMillan & Major James William McMillan, in the Old Barnwell District, SC, present day Bamberg County, SC.

I have been told that Daniel McMillan hated slavery, therefore moved to the north, where descendants of his fought for the Union. Descendants of his two brothers fought for the south.

The census listed Daniel McMillan as a planter & also a weaver. His father 's occupation was a weaver.
