A Virginian with Scottish Ancestry

Have seen reference he died after 1745 in Bertie Co., North Carolina, but found nothing factual to support that.

The book "Early Pee Dee Settlers" by John M. Gregg, Part 2, p. 592, indicates Thomas Andrews was living in the Pee Dee River area of South Carolina in 1763, in Craven County, Source Moore, Caroline T., Editor, Abstracts of the Wills of the State of South Carolina," 3 Volumes, publisher A.A. Simmons. [May actually pertain to his son Thomas and not this one, for we know Thomas (the son) and his wife Elizabeth witnessed a Will in the Craven Co., area in 1763]

Personal Note: (6/2001) Recently came to my attention that this Thomas Andrews Will was proved Feb 11, 1744-45, Wife mentioned as Martha, with Executors being sons Samuel and William. If this be the case then the above mentioned most likely pertains to his son Thomas living in the Pee Dee River area.

At the time of his death in 1815, it appears he had no surviving children if he had any at all. In all court documents concerning his estate there have been no record found to indicate any claimants were desended from his own children. So the descendants of Thomas and Samuel Andrews and Robert and Elizabeth Jordan, the children of Martha by a previous marriage, were entitled to the estate. With no legal Will the devision of property was made by executors and remained in court for years.
