Notes for JOHN ANDREWS: In the 1783 Spanish Census of East Florida (http://www.petersnn.org/petersnn/1783.html) his brother Samuel is noted.... (see more on Samuel for full documentation) "At the evacuation of Charles Town, he went to East Florida, taking his wife and four children, and four slaves with him. There they lived on Doctor's Lagoon.".... "ANDRE, Samuel - N. Carolina planter - married with 4 children - undecided to remain or leave; he has 4 slaves and 1 horse; farms and lives on a vacant estate on Doctor's lagoon on the other side of the St. Johns River; his brother lives with him, a bachelor called John." So it appears he followed his Loyalist Brother. Not sure if John proceeded to Nova Scotia as well. |
