He left Côteau-du-lac, Vaudreuil, Quebec along with his wife Annie Lalonde, and 1 year old daughter Louise Georgianna. They brought along (or more likely were brought along by) Annie's family. Her parents, Jean-Baptiste Lalonde and Isabelle Arseneau and all their children, Annie's sibling's. Together they travelled to Belle River, Ontario. They travelled to Ontario between September 1865 and March 1867. Most likely they travelled to Belle River during the spring/summer of 1866. Fabien and Annie Baptized 11 more children at St-Simon and St-Jude Church in Belle River, Ontario. NOTE:The Family Name was changed from PILON to PILLON around 1890. The reason is not known. 1st generation ---------------------------------------------------------------- 1- Louise Georgiana b.03 apr 1865 2- Hélène (Ellen)b.29 mar 1867 3- Josephb.01 dec 1868 4- Alfredb.27 sep 1870 died at 1yr old. 5- Marie-Donaldab.23 mar 1872 6- Arzelie Francesb.02 apr 1874 7- Rose Evangelineb.10 aug 1876 8- Henry Ulricb.15 dec 1878 9- Alexandreb.31 jul 1881 10-Marie (Baby)b.29 jun 1884 11-Mathildeb.28 sep 1885 12-Williamb.23 may 1890 All twelve children were raised in Belle River. Joseph moved from Belle River to Staples, Ontario in 1894, the year he married Marie Beaugrand, daughter of Antoine Beaugrand and Marie Montminy. They married at St-Joachim Church,in St-Joachim, Ontario, on the 13th of Aug 1894. The best man was William Lalonde his first cousin. Fabien and Annie also moved to Staples with remaining children Alex, Mathilde and William. Rose stayed in Belle River working as a servant. Henry also moved to Staples and was the first marriage in Holy Redeemer Church, when it opened in 1900, he married Marie Marchand. Arzelie and husband George Lesperance also moved to Staples.Where he moved his tailor shop business. The older girls Louise, Helen and Marie-Donalda had already married and lived in Windsor. Fabien died in Staples in 1902 and was buried at St-Alphonse Cemetery in Windsor. A short while later, Henry and Arzelie and their spouses moved to Windsor and then later to Detroit. Alex, now the head of the family took his mother and siblings Mathilde and William to Windsor as well. Rose married Robert Cumming and moved to Windsor. Joseph and Marie Pillon,had 11 children. They had 7 daughters and 4 sons. Almost all of them married and continued to live in the Staples area for most of their lives. 2rd Generation ---------------------------------------------------------------- children of Joseph: ------------------- 1- Eddie (Edward) was a bachelor for most of his life and had no children. But later married Amanda(Ella) Durocher a widow, on 5 jun 1962 at St-Simon & St-Jude, in Belle River, Ontario. When he was 64 years old. 2- Amedée married Della(Anna) Labute on 27 April 1926 At Holy Redeemer Church in Staples, Ontario. Daughter of Isidor Labute dit Chêne and Adela Tessier. The lived most of their lives in Windsor. They had 9 children together. 3- Arthur married Leah M. Quennville on 21 Feb 1933 at Holy Redeemer Church, Staples, Ontario. Daughter of Edmond Quennevile and Marie Laporte. They lived around Staples most of their lives. They also had 9 children together. 4- Aldege married Annella T. Rivest on 10 may 1932 at Holy Redeemer Church, Staples, Ontario.Daughter of Jean B. Rivest and Delores Marentette. They lived around Staples most of their lives.
