The Lynn Pipher Family Home Page

I am researching the following Surnames; Pipher, Thompson, Jackson, Lowe, Cating, Neptune, Hendricks, Rauenzahner. Most of these people settled in SE Kansas after the Civil War. Johann Ludwig Rauenzahner emigrated to the States in 1750 with his family. His ancestors go back to the 1500's in Germany.
Common variations of the Rauenzahner name are Routson, Routzahn and Routzon.
Sarah Routson migrated to Kansas with her two daughters Anne and Jane Lowe in 1868 after her first husband Jesse Cating died and after losing her son Edward Cating in the Civil War. She divorced her second husband John Lowe.
William Neptune's family goes way back to the 12th century. The Neptunes married into Sarah Routson's family in Kansas in the late 1800's
I know very little about the Piphers. I know that my GG grandfather Fred, was born in 1836 in New York. His son was Charles Ward Pipher. Charles' son was Homer Eugene Pipher born Dec 26, 1890 and Charles' son, Wayne Richard(my father) was born in 1911.
