HORNINDAL.175 - Jubilee.

In 2000 it is 175 years since migration from Norway to America started. A Norwegian National committee has invited all local municipals in Norway to mark this event.

In the period 1869 - 1929 about 750 persons from Hornindal in Norway migrated to America. Hornindal Historielag, That is something like Hornindal Historical Society, wants to collect information about «Honndøler» (people from Hornindal) who migrated.

A: Where in America did they settled?
B: Which occupation?
C: Who did they married.
D: Name and information of descendants.

Interesting items are.

1: Photos of persons, homestead, place of work etc.
2: Old letters, postcards and newspaper articles.



I am also researshing ancestors to both my father (Pisani) and my mother (Volstad in Minnesota).My grandfather's brother, Rasmus Paul Rask Mikalsen Volstad (1889-1963) married a Inga Hustad in Minnesota ca. 1920.

I am also looking for descendants of Johanne Margrethe Londo, born in Groeningen, Friesland, Holland in 1794/1795, or maybe 7.february 1796. Died 25.october in Christiania (Oslo), Norway.
Johanne Margrethe Londo was married 20.february 1819 (I belive) to Matheo Pisani, born 21 September 1778 in Lucca, Controne Italy.
