History of Henry Co., Indiana: says that the first hotel in Mt. Summit, Indiana was run by W.S. DUNBAR and that he was still in business (1884) We were always told this was John Wesley's father. He would have been 97 years old. We now know that it is not William S., brother of John, as he died in Raleigh County, VA. and according to descendants of William S., (brother) in W.VA, they state that his father's name was also William Sewell, and have found no grave marker in the Dunbar cemetary for him. According to letters from his grandaughters to my grandmother, it states that he is buried in Sulphur Springs, Indiana with his son Richard and family. This would be Bethal Cemetary, we have checked the stones but have found none with his name. This could be because some of the stones are so worn and unreadable. According to family accounts, he came to Indiana with just before the war broke out. (See the story Refugees, as told to Bessie Spell, by her grandmother, Mahala Susan Dunbar, William's grandaughter.
