Notes for John Donahue: "There is also a question about the family name "Donahue". The paper my great (or great, great) grandfather filled out when applying for citizenship was signed James Donaghy. The story I heard about this is that he was impressed into the British navy and "jumped ship" when arrived in Phila. He used a different name to keep the British from finding him. I have no idea if Donaghy is the real name or the name he was using. This should make tracing him even more challenging." Mathilda O'Connor
