Mrs Martha Ellen Smith, age 81, died at her home in Elco this morning. Surviving are her five daughters, Mrs. Cora Provo, Miss Grace Smith, Mrs. Effie Webster, Mrs. Jessie Dewitt, all of Elco, and Mrs. Maude Phillips of Thebes; two sons, Elvis Smith and Floyd Smith of Elco; two sisters, Mrs Lula Hanisch and Mrs. Anna Hurston of St. Louis; and four brothers, Charles, Albert, Vernon and Willis Mcvoy, all of St. Louis. The body will be at the family residence at Elco where friends may call after 4:00 P.M. today. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the Elco Baptist Church with Rev. C. E. Bridges officiating. Interment will be made at the Hazelwood Cemetery. J. M. Cauble of the Cauble Funeral Home, is in charge of all arrangements.
