| Time frame covered is from 1070 AD to the present day (31 generations). My main lines of research include Platz, Turney, York, Yaremchuk and Clanton lineage but cadet lines through marriage are also documented and include Wyche, de Salton, Holt, Gilliam, Baer, Flood, Collier, Browne, Boyarchuk, Williams, Klepper and other cousins (click on LINKS and FILES to see further information). There are lots of intesting connections in our lineage - we are direct descendants of Stephen Hopkins who came to North America on the Mayflower in 1620, 2nd cousins to CSA General James Holt Clanton (1827-1871), 1st and 2nd cousins to the Clantons who fought Wyatt Earp, his brothers and Doc Holiday at the OK Corrall in 1881, 2nd cousins to US Senator Hopkins Lacy Turney (1797-1857), 3rd cousins to Pennsylvania Senator Jacob Turney (1825-1891), 2nd cousins to CSA Colonel Peter Turney, 2nd in command to General Stonewall Jackson, and who later became Governor of Tennessee from 1893 to 1897 and 4th cousins to US House of Representatives Speaker (1950s & 60s) Carl Albert who almost became US President when Agnew and Nixon were forced to resign. Many of our line were early pioneers in North America and several were veterans of the American Revolutionary War, the War of 1812-1814, The American Civil War, the Russian Revolution, WWI and WWII and the Korean War. Descendants have rubbed shoulders with some historical figures such as US Presidents Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, James Polk and U. S. Grant. Other interesting people in our lineage include Lord Sir Richard Saltonstall, Lord mayor of London from 1597-1598, Sirs Richard Gilliam Senior and Junior who were involved with the Virginia Colony in the 1600s, Henry Turney who helped establish the city of Nashville, Tennessee in 1780, James Platz who was an Olympic athlete and Andrew and Sam Jaremczuk-Furmaniuk who were Cossack Cavalrymen.
