It started with cleaning out closets. I discovered a number of items my folks had saved in various forms. Newspaper articles, death notices, handwritten lists of births and deaths of ancestors, copies of official documents, old and recent photos. The more I find the more I'm convinced this site will always be under construction.

At this point I'm researching my Grandfather Frank S. Plewa. I believe he was born in 1880 in a town called Gros Elsingler Germany. He was Naturalized in the US in 1914 and had five children.

I'm also researching the Dettlaff family. They were original inhabitants of "Jones Island." I know that the family has been in Milwaukee for a long time and has close ties to St. Stanislaus church there.

Any information would be appreciated, also I'm willing to share what information I have.
