I have some fascinating information on my relatives Adam Nickolas Platz and Johann Paulus Platz brothers who came to America on the ship Neptune on Sept. 1753. They settled in Penn. and I have their descendents through 1955. I would like to trace more descendents and their families. Platz is German for Place. There are some Platz in MN however I have not found the connection to them.If you have anything POST IT!

I come down from Adam Nicolaus Platz,
George Platz 1778-1861, Peter Platz 1805-1875. As a child I used to go with my

grandparents to the Platz Annual Reunion near South Bend, IN. I've lived in FL for over 48 years, but thought I'd put in info that was given to me by my grandmother. I am looking for the European origins of the Platz--especially info on Adam's wife.

ADAM NICOLAUS PLATZ left on the ship NEPTUNE

from Rotterdam 1753 for Philadelphia, PA.

(Accompanied by Johann Paul Platz---with two

sons.) His wife, whom he is supposed to have

married before leaving the Old World was

Swedish, being the daughter of a Swedish

Nobleman. She it was who singularly was

honored by being twice endowed by the Kin of

Sweden. (A complete genealogy from the King

of Sweden---Adolf Fredrik 1751-1771---to the

present time clearly proving these statements

is in possession of John Platz.) End of

quote.

From the Mormon records I have Adam Platz's wife's name as Barbara Lonit.

I have a list of Adam Platz children. A list

of George Platz 8 children by 1st wife, Miss Gesy and list of 6 children by 2nd wife Maria

Weiser.

George Platz was killed by falling tree in Holmes Co, OH in 1843. Peter moved to OH with wife Polly Deeter in 1826. In 1852 they moved to North Liberty, IN. Peter and Polly had 12 children. I also have their dates.

Anyone wishing specific info may E-mail me direct.

I have the note at the bottom of my grandmother's missive stating that the this history was provided by John Platz for Attorney Gail Seybold, South Bend, IN. 1932.

My other families that intermarried with the Platz family coming across PA and OH to IN were Springer, Deeter, and Porter.
