My princial thrusts are toward my Plunkett history (Ireland), the High Family of Anson County, N.C. (distaff side), and my folks from the Myers side (distaff). The High family is originally from England, and the Myers (Miers) side is originally from Germany or perhaps Holland; and of course, the Plunkett side is from Ireland (via France, England, and then on Ireland. All members of all three families arrived on these shores beginning about 1629 up to about 1730. All members from the three branches are connected with Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia....nowhere else. I have been working on this for about 40 years and retired from the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. I have been a volunteer genealogist for the National Archives in Washington, D.C. for the past 20 years. My family occupies a large portion of the "10,000 Plunketts" book by Emmy P. Ivy, with whom I had great pleasure in working with. I will be most happy to share my work, and am particularly interested in firmly establishing a definitive establishment in Europe for my folks if anyone can help. |
