He owned a plantation in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, on which he worked slaves. He died in the prime of life. His widow married a Mr. Brewer, who was intemerate and squandered her property.

A Lieutenant in Relvoutionary War;he served his country faithfully, and as a soldier and patroit, had few superoirs. He was in the battle of Monmouth, New Jersey, which, was fought on a hot Sunday morning, Jun 28, 1778, while his wife lay in confinement within hearing of the guns.

ETER VANSICKLEN:
It is thought by some that his first name was Rynear, but this cannot be, as he had a brother by that name. His name might possibly have been Ferdinandus. It was probably Peter since it was customary thaen to name one son after the father, and his only son was named Peter.

Peter served under Gen. George Clinton as Private in the Revolutionary War. In 1817 Peter and his wife Catherine along with Andrew, Cornelius, Elias, Peter, Ira and Catherine Finch and and their families &37 in all) emigrated from western NY. This trip was by wagon and faltboats down Oil Creek and the Alleghany and Ohio Rivers. After many weeks thses pioneers arrived in Ohio to start a little colony. Tompkins was Cayuga County at this time. Also spelled Kuykrendahl
