Mrs. Paul Koehler

Bertha Emelia Stoelzing was born near Mascoutah, Ill., on March 7, 1869.
At the age of ten she came with her parents to a farm near Chanute,
Kan., where she grew to young womanhood.
On May 19, 1901, she was united in marriage to Paul Koehler. The
established a home northeast of Lawrence, later moving to the Sigel
neighborhood, west of Lawrence. In the year of 1910 they moved to
Fairview, where she lived until her death on May 19, 1933, having
reached the age of 64 years, 2 months and 12 days. She is survived by
her husband and three daughters, Louise Pohl of Baldwin, Hilda of New
York City and Edna of the home address.
Four sisters and two brothers survive; Mrs. Louise Eaton of Oxnard,
Calif., John Stoelzing and Margaret Stoelzing, both of Chanute, Kan.,
Katrina Stoelzing of Miami, Ariz., Arthur Stoelzing of Wellington, Kans,
and Mrs. Rosa McGuffy of New York City. These, this other relatives and
a host of neighbors and friends, mourn her departure.
Mrs. Koehler was reared in a Christian home and at an early age joined
the Methodist Episcopal church of which she remained a faithful member
until her death.
She was a devoted Christian and was always willing to do all she could
for her church. She became a member of the Fairview W. F. M. S., never
missing a meeting, when she was able to attend. Mrs. Koehler was a devoted wife, a good mother, a true friend and neighbor and a loyal Christian.
