| I'm taking a stab at researching my family background. I have no idea what I'm doing, and this is the first research I have conducted so far. My father's family is POLK, originating somewhere in Poland and ending up in Wayne County, Michigan, where my grandfather operated a meat packing business. My mother's family (on her mother's side) were HENDRICKSONS, originating in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. They are believed to have immigrated from Norway. Her father's name was ACOSTA, and he left while she was a child, growing up in Detroit. She is still looking for information about him. |
