The entries are faint, appearing to have been erased (or attempted to be) and there are entries in this block for most of the people on this page with the exception of black people. There is some question, then, as to whether Peter's father was foreign born. The 1880 census abstract does not help, it only confuses the issue, as it shows Peter b. TN., and both parents b. TN. 27.
