Born Rogers Clark Ballard, son of Andrew Jackson Ballard/Frances Ann Truuston, who on October 27, 1884, at his mother's request, had his name legally changed to Thruston, by an act of the County Court in Fayette County, KY., to carry on the Thruston name. Rogers C. B. Thruston was the man who did such extensive research of the Polks with William Harrison Polk, and who tried to convince WHP not to show the connection of William Polk (wife Margaret Taylor) to William Polk (wife Nancy Knox Owens) as fact but as theory, because no one knew it was fact
