| Hello all Genealogists,-My name is Jacqueline (Jackie) Keating Polansky. I am 3rd generation born in the US on both sides of my family. My mother's family (Otterby, Tidemann, Nelson) came from the Meraker, Norway area in 1875. The same year my father's grandfather(Keating) left County Cork, Ireland for the best farming ground he could find in the US. He was told that Illinois was where he wanted to go and he worked his way from New York City to Christian County, Illinois.-I have some information about my mother's people back to Meraker but no farther. Am having trouble getting info on my mother's father and his history (Lewis Otterby). Hoping to hear from other family members and share info.-Need some help getting to sources of info in County Cork, Ireland. Know that public records were lost there different times because of fire.
